DHMİ transitions into AMHS operations using Avitech Technology
The Transition into Operations was completed within just one month after successful Acceptance Tests, with DHMİ expressing complete satisfaction with the operational products delivered by Avitech.
On July 19th 2018, 11:00 UTC, DHMİ, the General Directorate of State Airports Authority of Turkey, successfully transitioned to AMHS operations, based on state-of-the-art Avitech AMHS technology. This represents a key step forward in the modernisation of the Aeronautical Communication Systems of DHMİ.
A team consisting of DHMİ engineers, Avitech experts and NiSAN Elektronik Enstrumantasyon engineers - Avitech’s local partner for this project- successfully activated the AMHS links between Ankara and Rome and between Ankara and Vienna as planned, replacing (aging/dated) CIDIN links (which have been operational until now).
Connection of additional international AMHS links to other COM Centres in the ICAO EUR Region follows the established planning and these will become operationally available in the near future.
As part of the project, DHMİ has achieved integration of the Message Handling System with the current ATS Flight Planning environment, providing a smooth transition of the existing systems at Esenboğa Airport to DHMİ’s new ATC Center in Ankara. This integration was made possible through implementation of Avitech AMHS and Flight Planning Systems.
This establishes the basis for long-term cooperation between DHMİ and Avitech, ensuring efficient operations and optimal maintenance of the systems installed at the ATC Center in Ankara, at Istanbul Grand Airport, Çukurova Regional Airport and for the provided Training System.
With this implementation, Avitech further strengthens its leadership position in the AMHS market.
